Patients commonly notice:
Treatment usually combines antifungal medicine with keeping feet dry. Cracks or secondary bacterial infection may need additional care. Nail involvement needs longer treatment and should not be assumed without examination.
Toe spaces, soles, nails and sometimes hands are checked together.
Antifungal treatment is used for the right duration, not just until itching stops.
Drying toe spaces, changing socks and rotating footwear reduce recurrence.
Pain, pus, swelling or diabetes risk needs closer attention.
